Our Programme

A structured curriculum rooted in early childhood development Music Together®'s curriculum is a very structured programme delivered in an immersion environment that is very fun and playful.

The music is pitched in just the right range for children’s voices and includes songs, rhythmic chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, and instrumental play-alongs, all in a rich variety of tonalities and meters. Original songs and arrangements by the program coauthors make these collections especially unique. Each of the nine Music Together® Song Collections also includes traditional american folk songs and chants, music from many other cultures, always including at least one song per collection in another language.

Music Together® program models are designed to support children in achieving basic music competence—the ability to “speak” the language of music.

Music exposure through different rhythm/ beats, different key songs and different music genres / cultures. Music Together® gives children the full music vitamin / nutrition that they would need for a good music education through a structured attempt to curate the songs each week to include a good dose of minor key songs, non-duple standard meter songs (triple, swing meter) etc

Music creation through lyric / song word substitution and making music during our instrument playing time such as play along song

Ensuring music accessibility to various children by using songs without words or “songs” without melodies as different children may learn music in different ways. Eg. Some children especially babies find words or language difficult to grasp but can blabble and make “cooing” sounds, while some children find it hard to maintain the beat when there is melody involved.

The pleasure of singing, dancing, moving, and playing instruments with others engages children, and can support children’s early childhood development in the following domains:

In addition, Music Together®’s curriculum supports many early childhood education philosophies, such as Montessori and Reggio Emilia.

Music Together®’s Class Materials

Music Together® has developed nine non-sequential song collections, each characterized by its own graphic, color, and instrument.

These collections each include a recording and child's songbook and are designed to be used one collection per semester.

A family can begin Music Together® classes at any time with any collection. Each family enroled in the program takes home a beautifully illustrated songbook, a CD, and a download each semester.
